Virgin Mary the Blameless Vessel of God’s Gift

Virgin Mary the Blameless Vessel of God's Gift

The Virgin Mary is known as the mother of Jesus Christ. Little is known of her early or personal life. She was a cousin of Elizabeth, who was the mother of John the Baptist.

Living in Nazareth, the Virgin Mary was betrothed to Joseph, a carpenter. The Angel Gabriel appeared unto Mary proclaiming that she would be the mother of the Messiah. Although confused as to how she would conceive, Mary responded and obeyed God. After some time, Joseph and Mary journeyed to Bethlehem to register. Mary was heavy with child and gave birth to Jesus in a stable, in Bethlehem, as the inns were full.

During Jesus’ ministry, Mary also followed Him, showing support and unconditional love. She was with Jesus from birth until death. God chose her because of her purity. Mary was willing to be God’s servant; she submitted herself to be a vessel for the Savior of the world.
